Ian A. Rivard is a consulting aerospace structures and stress engineer with over two decades of industry experience. Coming from an aviation family, aircraft have always been a significant part of his life. After completing his university education, Ian worked in the private sector supporting several aerospace OEMs mostly supporting aircraft. He later expanded to space launch and satellite projects with a major OEM, focusing on vehicle reusability. Ian has supported new designs, product support, repairs, MRB, fatigue, and fracture. Throughout his career, he has utilized classical methods for composites and metallics to address structural challenges, but now enjoys focusing on finite element analysis and the development of automation, best practices, and methods.
