Description:

This script allows the user to create a point at the center of a circular curve.

 

Use Instructions:

To create a point open the tool by entering "geometry" section of the engineeringtools toolbar and selecting "make center points from curve."

You will be prompted to select a curve

After making your selection click "ok". A new group will be created containing the point at the center of the selected curve.

 

Typical usage is run the script:

This can be useful to grab the center points of many holes for fasteners.

Project points onto the mid-plane if a shell mesh for enforcing a node, then tools --> check --> coincident points and merge duplicates

 

Requirements:

An open .modfem containing a curve.

 

Notes:

Currently, the script is in beta, but is included in the standard FEMAP API suite from engineeringtools.org.
