Group Expand by Connectivity

Description:

This script grows the active group by connectivity to include the elements directly surrounding the group's current elements.

For huge models this can take some time, so after 15 seconds or so it will prompt you and ask if you want to continue or quit. There is also a "Yes and don't ask again" option, which will expand the group until the expansion is complete, regardless of time passed.

Use Instructions:

Activate the group desired to perform the action on, and run the script.

If you want to run the script multiple times on a single group, run it twice within 15 seconds. You will be presented with a dialogue box and the option to choose the number of times you wish to run the program. Enter a number, and select "OK."

Requirements:

Active group with at least one element in it.

Troubleshooting:

Make sure you have an active group with at least one element in it and that element connects to other elements.

Notes:

Currently, the script is in beta, but is included in the standard FEMAP API suite from engineeringtools.org.
